In 2011, I started walking in the hills around Rishikesh. I had no trekking gear. I barely knew what I was doing. It was just me, whatever clothes I already owned, and a stubborn wish to go a little higher each time.
That’s how it stayed for almost ten years. No proper equipment, no big plan, just solo treks through the Himalayas, learning the mountains one trail at a time. I didn’t even buy real trekking gear until 2021. Back then, trekking wasn’t a business idea. It was simply how I made sense of my own life.
From a Personal Habit to Hike In India
Somewhere in 2022, that changed. I realised that what the mountains had quietly given me, silence, perspective, a kind of peace no city ever managed, was worth sharing, not just keeping to myself.
In 2023, that realisation became Hike In India: a registered trekking company built on the same instinct that once sent me walking alone into the hills. This isn’t a company that hired a founder for a good story. It’s the other way around: a decade-long personal habit that slowly grew into a company.
Every trek we plan is still built the way I’d want to walk it myself, with real physical challenge, and enough room left to actually feel something.
What’s Next
Right now, our focus is trekking across the Himalayas. In the years ahead, we want to bring this same soulful, unhurried style of trekking to more destinations across India.

Why People Choose to Walk With Us
Your Journey, Immortalized
Memories fade. Footage doesn’t. On every trek, I personally shoot and edit a cinematic video of the group, the same camera and gear I carry on my own solo trips. You focus on being present, I’ll hand you something to watch for years.
Uncompromised Safety & Local Support
This isn’t a slogan we picked for the page. Every group treks with a BMC or AMC-qualified trek leader, the certification level matched to what that specific trail actually demands. A basic first aid kit travels with every group as standard, and tougher routes get specific add-ons on top, oxygen cylinders included, based on that trail’s real risks. That, plus local ground support who’ve walked these mountains across every season, is what safety actually means here, not just a word on a page.
A Spiritual, Not Just Physical, Journey
A Hike in India trek isn’t only about the summit. It’s built around the quiet parts too, watching a sunrise without reaching for your phone, sitting with silence long enough that it stops feeling strange. That’s not an add-on here. It’s the point.
Small Enough to Know Your Name
We keep groups to 15-20. Small enough that I know who you are by day two. Big enough that if you’ve come alone, you won’t stay that way, there’ll be five new friends around the campfire by night one.
